Join me on Sunday April 2nd at 10am, for a gentle beginners yoga class under the beautiful lush trees of Matheson Hammock Park.
We will begin with a brief discussion about the philosophy of yoga and it's benefits.
Followed by relaxation breathing technics, and we finalize with a gentle beginners yoga sequence. Where I will walk you through the basics of each pose for proper alignment and understanding.
We will wrap up with a Q & A

👆🏻Often times I become caught up in this vicious cycle of compare and despair. It sucks me in like a Dyson vacuum (if you have a Dyson, you understand) and I swirl around in my negative thoughts until I'm drowning in misery. It could be something as small as how much better someone applies their makeup. I mean, stupid shit that has no bearing on the content of a person's character and I begin to think of all the other things I could have done differently and how much better my life could be if only I had done this, and this, and this. I am actively trying to retrain my brain. It's been helping, but some days I have setbacks, and today was one of those days. So, I just wanted to pass on a friendly reminder that you are all doing a fantastic job being yourselves. This is YOUR life. Nobody else is you. Nobody else will ever be you. Nobody else can make you happy but you. So, if it brings you joy, keep on doing what you're doing. Fight to keep comparisons at bay and fuck everyone else.

Part of my spring cleaning project was making a dedicated yoga space. Nothing fancy - a mat, a few props, and a blank wall. Despite my commitment to going to class under almost any circumstance, (injury, illness, weather, ungodly hour of the morning) the hardest challenge yet has been developing a home practice. The hope here is that by carving out the space, maybe I'll be more inclined to carve out the time as well. 😂

Today Oliver decided that waiting 2 seconds for me to fully extend was just TOO MUCH and he was done with this whole photo business. Or it might have had something to do with the toddler just out of frame who tackled me right after the photo was taken. Either way.
I have to say looking through the gallery is the best mood booster ever! Also I might need a puppy now 🙈

I think I can really see how nurturing my partner is when I'm sick or hurt & need some help.
Bein sick is part of the wave. Did all my meditating, got extra sleep, pumped up on super foods.
And so it is.
Being sick, in peace.
Total acceptance of this moment.
