Traveling for work is something I don't take for granted. I am grateful for it every day. However, as wonderful as it is, it isn't true "travel" and far from vacation. I have made the mistake over the past few years thinking this travel is a substitute for vacation and it quite simply burned me the f*ck out. I vowed to head into this year adamant & conscious about self care. This wasn't just a spa day here and there. It was quiet time, exercise, food, drink, reflexology, education and....vacation. I book two extra days for me when I travel anywhere now. And am so happy to report (though mini) we are taking our first TRUE vacation in over 3 years. I love what I do for work so much that it is hard to turn it off. But being aware off this has allowed me to build boundaries and open myself up to other opportunity for things I also love. It is beyond import to love yourself and give your self care before others. Otherwise how can you give them your best self? I put a link in my bio for an awesome podcast called "Why Travel". #whytravel#thisisthework#selfcare
Greek pride-will never die! I love how the Greeks honor their heritage and history. Everywhere you turn there's another exhibit with relics of the past. Reminding us how far we've evolved and yet how similar we all are no matter the century 🏛🇬🇷❤
Summer is approaching...which means it's the perfect time to start planning some travel if you haven't already. No joke, I found round-trip plane tickets today from Chicago-Costa Rica for $292. I'm NOT making this up.
Check out the newest blog post on why all teachers should travel, and travel often. Your students need it, your families need it, and you need it. If you're going what?? What's this girl talking about? Then you DEFINITELY need to read it. If you're like, I know. Then read it to feel even better about knowing it.
