And all the doctors can say is 'we will wait and see what happens and if it bursts we'll do something then' 😂😂😂😂😂😂 ohhhhh the medical system.... regardless of actually being a Paramedic, there isn't much about hospitals and doctors surgeries I actually like! They certainly do have their place though, I wholeheartedly trust putting my life in the hands in emergency department physicians, but at the moment I'm not in the emergency room so I'm taking matters into my own hands!

Myofascial series 14: Tight overhead position? "Tight" triceps could be playing a role. Today we are working on the triceps. The triceps have 3 heads and cross the elbow and shoulder: 💪The long head originates on the infraglenoid tubercle of the scapula. 💪The lateral head originates on the posterolateral proximal humerus (upper arm bone). 💪The medial head originates on the posteromedial humerus. 💪They all insert into the proximal ulna (lower arm bone). The triceps main action is to extend the elbow and shoulder. If the triceps is "tight" you will not be able to fully flex your shoulder, which will lead to a suboptimal overhead position and potentially pain.
1️⃣find your triceps- see video and images to the left. Place your triceps on top of a mobility ball on top of a box. Tack down the tricep musculature as you flex and extend your elbow fully.
2️⃣Focus on deep stomach (diaphragm) breathing.
3️⃣Stay on a tender spot for about 30 seconds and then move up or down your tricep to explore another spot. Accumulate about 1-2 minutes per side.
4️⃣Follow this up with a shoulder flexion end range contraction (which we will go over in future videos). 🔃Tomorrow we will tackle the hamstrings! Tag a friend that may be dealing with tight shoulders.

Nutrition. It's confusing. There is so much information out there and it changes regularly. On top of that, fad diets pop up all the time which can be restrictive, hard to maintain and isolating. Don't eat fat. Eat fat. Don't eat carbs. Eat carbs. Don't eat sugar. But wait, what about fruit? Ok, eat sugar. Eat like a caveman. But wait, did caveman eat avocado mousse cakes? Ok, don't eat like a caveman. Eat in moderation. What's moderation? Eat 5 serves of veggies a day. No, hang on, eat 7. No wait! Eat 10.

Not Your Average Pizza •
• In advance prep --
-- In a medium sauce pan, fry two hot Italian sausages (cut into small pieces with the casing removed). Add 1/2 tsp garlic powder, 1 diced tomato, and 3 giant handfuls of chopped spinach. The spinach will wilt down after a few minutes. Remove from heat. Store in fridge. • When your ready to make the pizza, roll out a whole wheat dough and place on a greased pan. • For sauce, I used the PC brand Roasted Red Pepper Dip (it's SO) good. Just a few spoonfuls does the trick. • Sprinkle your sausage spinach mixture on top
• Finish with 1/4 cup crumbled feta
• Bake at 425 for 20 mins or until the crust turns golden brown. •
My family didn't want to eat leftovers, (grilled chicken) so they all went out to get food...I on the other hand transformed that smoked chicken into a masterpiece! I'm not playing no games, and healthy food is expensive, I'll use every crumb....they saw what I made and now they are drooling mad at themselves for settling for a burger!
I shredded some grilled chicken inside of my NutriBullet, added 1 jalapeno pepper and a little salsa . Then I sauteed it in a little canola oil sprayed to reheat it. Warmed me up some corn tortillas and the same spray, slather them with the remaining avocado I have from earlier, added one ounce of cheese split between 3 tacos a little bit of lettuce I had left and a few onions... diet Mt dew on the side, and I'm chillin! 😂 😂 😂 😂 #igotthis ! *swipe for macros*

I try to buy as much organic as I can however if it is not in your budget pay attention to the dirty dozen and the clean fifteen and prioritize those foods that you should buy organic. Dirty dozen: strawberries, spinach, nectarines, apples, peaches, pears, cherries, grapes, celery, tomatoes, sweet bell peppers, potatoes. This is a Petoskey stone...they are heralded as our state rock and if you grow up in Northern Michigan...you probably picked these up as a kid. You are not aloud to pick them any more from the beaches in the national lakeshore but I am lucky to live close enough to the water that these fossils show up randomly throughout my yard. This one appeared just as you see it. I have such happy memories of rock hunting with my brother and grandma every summer. Need a quick #dinner for tonight? This Sheet Pan Shrimp tacos #recipe from @eatingbirdfood will do the trick! Shrimp, bell peppers, onion, tortillas (if you choose!), spices, and toppings are all you need! Total prep AND cook time is 25 minutes...easy peezy. ;) SERVES: 4
3 bell peppers, seeded and sliced
1 yellow onion, sliced
3 cloves garlic, minced
½ teaspoon sea salt
½ teaspoon ground pepper
1 Tablespoon olive oil
1 lb. fresh shrimp, peeled and deveined
½ Tablespoon olive oil
1 Tablespoon chili powder
½ teaspoon cumin
½ teaspoon onion powder
¼ teaspoon sea salt
salsa, avocado and cilantro, for serving
1. Preheat oven to 425°. Toss bell peppers and onion with garlic, salt, pepper and olive oil. Add to sheet pan and cook for 10-12 minutes.
While onions and peppers are cooking, toss shrimp with olive oil, chili powder, cumin, onion powder and salt.
2. Remove onions and peppers from oven, toss and push to one side of the baking sheet. Add shrimp to the other side of the sheet and return to the oven. Cook for another 10 minutes or until shrimp are no longer translucent and cooked through.
3. Serve shrimp and veggies in warm tortillas with salsa, avocado and cilantro on top.

Not where I hoped to be at the end of this, but definitely thankful for all my coaches and everyone who supported me. After an injury in the first workout, I pushed to my best for the rest and my body said no. After a hard year of training this year, I will be back next year and better than ever.
