Back to the basics.
When planning for your wedding cake you have two main aspects in mind; Taste and Appearance. Some cakes taste amazing but don't have much to them, others look extravagant but are dry.
An experienced baker can do both well, and their prices reflect that skill.
A slightly less expensive way to go is to get a moist and tasty cake with minimal decorations, then have your florist add flowers/greenery. It looks incredible and still tastes so good.

a little moment from today's wedding at the art club...none of the bar arrangements were planned but i had a ton of extra flowers thanks to the abundance of @moonrosefarm, blue skys farm (most amazing peonies!!) and our garden so was able to make some last minute extra guys happen in the venues vases, which was awesome. thankful times a million for the abundance of the season and to everyone growing beautiful things right here
Yesterday was national pink day, I guess, and I missed it! So here is a beautiful, vibrant bridal bouquet to make up for it! This beauty was from our last wedding of the Spring season and is making wish I had my hands full of summer blooms right now! The longer I work with flowers, the more I love them!! #lafleurdujour#ranunculusgonewild
These beautiful delicate poppies fall apart as soon as you look at them and I have an awful feeling our housekeeper will quit if I keep bringing them into the house...but aren't they stunning! #makingworkforourselves#weddingflowers#homegrown
