“I understand that you have a budget for this project and I would like to come to an agreement on the price. But I believe my price is fair and competitive to the value I’m going to deliver to you.” Of course this applies differently given the context. With my experience, anybody who will not pay you with the promise of more work down the line, will not call you. This is just facts and simple math. If you charge $400 to do a simple project and then their next project has a $6,000 budget, they aren’t calling you because you already did a job for them for $400 and because you can’t hire people or rent gear efficiently at that price, you’ve pigeon holed yourself into low cost clientele. I always say sell the value because it’s true. VALUE RULES. What do you guys think? Let me know in the comments!
