⚡️ @formmiami ⚡️Announcing the Launch of FORM MIAMI,
December 6-10, 2017
PRESENTING 25 OF THE WORLD'S LEADING GALLERIES IN
SCULPTURE OBJECTS, FUNCTIONAL ART AND DESIGN
Producers of SOFA CHICAGO have announced the launch of their newest fair – FORM. Taking place in Miami during Art Week, the fair will run December 7-10 with an Opening Night Preview on Wednesday, December 6. The invitation-only fair will showcase a highly curated selection of 25 international galleries displaying the very best in the applied arts.
FORM will take place in a new venue located at Washington Avenue and 17th Street. This iconic venue, located just steps from the Miami Beach Convention Center and designed by renowned architect Morris Lapidus, will make FORM a premier destination for the Art Basel Miami Beach collecting crowds. FORM will kick-off with an Opening Night Preview on Wednesday, December 6 – an evening that will offer the public, collectors and the art and design community a first look at the inaugural fair. “We are thrilled to launch FORM in Miami this December to create a destination for the very best in the applied arts and sculpture objects,” said Donna Davies, Vice President of Urban Expositions’ Art Group. “With more than two decades of experience producing fairs, including SOFA CHICAGO, we’re looking forward to bringing a fair dedicated to this exciting genre to Miami.” FORM SELECTS
FORM will also feature the Selects program which is a proven favorite of collectors at SOFA and Art Palm Springs. Favorite fair pieces will be chosen by noted designers, curators, and critics. FORM Selects brings the voice of these noted tastemakers directly to the FORM audience, allowing visitors to understand why particular pieces are of note by these masters in their fields. 2017 FORM Selects participants will be announced closer to the fair.

It's Throwback Thursday to Tribeca Behind the Scenes with producer, Ben Skipworth. See the festival experience through his eyes and check out our conversation below.
Q: What was the most exciting thing about Tribeca?
A: Seeing "Silo" and some of the amazing people behind the film get the recognition they deserved. It was a team effort, but I saw several individuals invest so much of their lives into this film, as far as back as probably three years ago, that it was nearly a teary-eyed premiere for me. Knowing that over 4,000 shorts were submitted and we were one of around 40 that made the cut was an incredibly overwhelming feeling.
Q: How do you think the audience received the film?
A: It's always terrifying putting one of your babies out into the world. Will it grow up or get snatched up by a hawk? I'd say ours grew up ... There were some amazing films in our block and "Silo" completely held its own amongst them and other festival frontrunners. Some of the audience members hung around after to chat up Sam and Marshall and that was really cool to see.
Q: Do you personally relate to the story? How?
A: Every single time I describe the story to someone, they always go, "Wow, I had no idea that was a thing!" This story is as much about awareness as it is telling a phenomenal narrative. The awareness is cool because it's two-fold. For an outsider, they're shocked at the danger associated with farming. For farmers, it makes them take a second look at menial tasks and get rid of their "it won't happen to me" attitude. I think that's something anybody can get behind.
Q: You've put in hard work on this film since the very beginning. Has your take on it changed from when you were shooting in Indiana to seeing it on the big screen in the big city?
A: Oh man, I don't even know how to describe how I felt seeing a film I had such a chunk of my life devoted to premiere in New York City. I'd seen so many cuts, had so many conversations with Sam and Marshall and felt so close to this story that finally seeing it unfold on a screen was jaw dropping. Passionate people are powerful people and you won't find two people more passionate about what they do like Sam and Marsh

This dress is made of wires! How cool. @projectrunway
Most people don't realize you have to do take after take when filming. There are so many moving parts and so many other people trying to do their job perfectly. When it all comes together it's amazing to see! #actorslife
