Lying Floor Skull Crushers: Using a preacher bar or any barbell, perform a traditional skull crusher rep, but use the floor to rest the bar each rep. This will force your triceps to work harder as this variation eliminates any possibility of using body weight momentum to move the weight.

Overhead Cable Rope Extensions: These are an absolute favorite of mine. These allow you to get a great stretch and an even better contraction in your triceps. Plus, the cable rope machine keeps constant tension on your triceps during the entire movement 🙌

Giant Set - Tricep Pushdowns: Another great way to target all parts of your tricep and really test your strength and endurance. Start with a wide grip and perform 15 reps, then move your grip in to a neutral grip and do 15 more reps. Finally, move your grip in once more to a narrow grip and perform 15 additional reps. Do this for 3 total sets 💥

305# doubles the other day. Nothing too exciting. Taking a break this coming week from heavy work putting stress on my hips (aka squats and sumo deads). My hips have been pretty painful over the past couple weeks (since I pulled/strained a hip flexor 3 weeks ago), only getting worse as i haven't taken time off to actually let them heal. Needing to heal up before the intensity increases as meet day approaches. Kinda like a mini impromptu deload I guess Lolol. I've been trying to get back into my yoga practice lately. Today was the first day during my pregnancy I had to actually do "prenatal yoga" - I couldn't lie on my back long enough for traditional poses without feeling as if I may pass out (lying on your back during the third trimester for long periods of time may inhibit blood flow). I also can no longer do chaturanga to up dog in my flows. I felt annoyed - as if I weren't working hard enough or getting enough of a work out in. Which made me check myself - it's so important to remember to leave your ego at the door as often as possible in every situation. We in the fitness community get so caught up in appearances and sweat and feeling "the burn" that sometimes we lose focus of the soul. Which is even more important than the body. All of this to say - remember to love yourself where you're at. Exercise your soul as much as your body. Practice #selflove wherever possible. Embrace whatever it is that your body can do for you. Don't neglect your spirit in your quest for perfection (which doesn't exist). Give yourself space and compassion. Happy Sunday 💚.

Life is rough right now. PA school is rough. I don't sleep and my strength gains are shit. I have 3 exams a week and I don't see my friends. I feel my body changing a bit, not as strong, not as lean.
