summer is in 8 weeks! ☀️👙 4th of july is in 10 weeks! i have a plan for lifting for the next 12 weeks and tomorrow is day oneeeee. 😍 i'm serious about the gym and nutrition. i can't help but be inspired by all of my hot friends. they really make me believe that i can achieve the body i want by watching them achieve the bodies they want. i won't dish all the details of my program and macros but you can #WatchMeWork cause i'll be documenting the whole 12 week cut on here. 🌴🌊 summer and crop tops and shorts and bathing suits, here i come.
peanut butter #whey2be cookie :-)) my goal with every review i post is to be honest in order to establish my own credibility and give respect to the company i am working with (bc if i lie and don't tell them they have some faults, they won't reach their potential as a company).... so here we go: i had high expectations for this one, but i was disappointed with how dry this particular flavor was. even moreso than the other flavors :/
order of least to most dry from this brand: chocolate chip, banana chocolate chip, cranberry orange white chocolate chip, double chocolate chip, then peanut butter.
unfortunately, the textures on these cookies are very hit and miss. i would highly suggest chocolate chip & banana chocolate chip (don't worry though, the banana isn't super strong or artificial) as your go to flavors if you're thinking about ordering (: more reviews to come!!
A little something about me: if a smoothie or smoothie bowl doesn't have chocolate in it, count me out. I just can't do it..🙅🏽 Want to know something else? This smoothie bowl was made with a vegan vanilla flavoured protein!🍦 So why is it so dark, you ask? Because I dug through my cupboards and added everything cacao I could find!🙆🏽
Do you guys know that there's a difference between raw CACAO powder and COCOA powder? I mostly only use raw cacao these days because it's cold pressed which means that it maintains it's original enzymes and it's loaded with minerals. So it's that chocolate flavour we all know and love, but way better for you! And dairy-free too! Try these derivatives of cacao out for yourself: |
•Cacao nibs: the perfect dairy-free chocolate chip to add on top of a smoothie bowl for a little extra crunch🍪|
•Cacao butter: throw a small chunk into a hot chocolate or coffee and blend it. It will give it that creaminess that's so yum!☕️|
•Cacao paste: comes in chunks, kind of like dark chocolate squares for baking. Melt it down and put it into molds to make your own chocolate!🍫|
•Cacao powder: add to everything under the sun☀️...even to vanilla protein smoothie bowls! 😛😇 #cocao#smoothiebowl#chocolateislife#chocolate
Something I feel is super important for me at the moment, but also lots of lovely people. I know I'm guilty of comparing myself to others. I feel I should be as good as someone else at work, as fit as someone on Instagram.... the list goes on. We need to remember every so often to be proud of ourselves and our accomplishments.
Take a breath and remember you are enough ❤️

In case you needed a reminder (only because I did today), positive people don't always have positive days. ☝🏻 I preach positivity and optimism partly because I need those affirmations myself. Today was a rough mental health day. I let everything going on get to me and I may have shed a few tears. That's ok, I'm ok! It's ok to breakdown sometimes, to feel raw emotion. I am guilty of trying to do too much, guilty of having too much on my plate and sometimes, it's just too much to handle. I just remind myself that I'm human, we all have emotions and even though I try to be positive nonstop--- that ish is impossible. None of us have it all figured out or have an easy road we're on, no matter how it seems. I got my pouty/exhausted butt up, and went to the gym for a BRUTAL leg/booty workout. Shaky legs and a nice pump thanks to my new non-caffeinated pre from @pescience 🙌🏻 Now time for rest and a refreshed mindset for tomorrow. Love y'all. -
Still feeling great on day 9 💃🏻 and this @whole30 approved Chinese food is giving me life and only took me 15 mins to make 🙌🏼 Spaghetti squash noodles (leftover), sautéed broccoli, bok choy, peas and onion in toasted sesame oil, ghee, and coconut aminos. Salmon topped with green onion and sesame seeds. This meal is definitely going in regular rotation 😍
A little update! Still working on growing the 🍑. Super esited with how my arms are looking and Im going to start focusing on back and shoulders 👊🏼 As annoying as these selfies are, they really help see the progress being made to appreciate the journey 💕 happy Tuesday 😊
There will be days where your eyes can do nothing more than form tears. There will be days where your mind will try to con you into going back to old habits. There will be days where you never want to consume another meal again.
And when that happens, you wipe your tears, remember why you started, and you eat. Because I know good and well that I'm still here for a reason. Whatever that reason may be I'm not so sure just yet, but I know it's meant for something good, and it's all in God's hands. I am stronger than my struggles. I am not my past and I am certainly NOT my disorder. 🌻 #RiseAbove

SHARING IS CARING. TAG A FRIEND👯
Attention: Step away from the big, clunky machines.
Many gyms are packed with shiny machines designed to hit every muscle in your body. Most weight machines do that in two ways: limiting your range of motion and isolating a muscle or a muscle group. Two kinds of people those things are great for are bodybuilders and rehabbers. Probably not you, right? Me either. You're meant to crawl, jump, sprint, dance, squat and so on. For maximum results, throw your body a curveball by working multiple muscles at the same time.
Not sure where to start? Try these techniques instead of jumping on a shiny machine.
Use free weights: dumbbells, kettle bells, barbells and medicine balls are super versatile. They help you build functional strength.
Do bodyweight exercises: there are endless ways to use your body as resistance - yoga/pilates poses, push-ups and burpees, to name a few. The best part about these moves? They have you moving naturally, the way you were meant to, while engaging tons of muscles.
Take your cardio outside: run. Take a hike. Ride a bike. The change in terrain can result in better fitness gains. #twinmommy#momlife#momoftwo#momstrong#toughmother#strongnotskinny#strongerthaniwas#strongrunnerchicks#strongmom#strongisthenewpretty#fitishlife#healthyish#triathlontraining#duathlete#halfmarathoner#fitspiration#fitcommunity#fittip#gymtalk
Buffet style #tacotuesday ! Shredded chicken fajitas with cauliflower fried rice and guacamole and salsa. I made a super long story showing how I used the prep from this weekend to put this together in 30 minutes.
Lifestyle 🤓 | If I was able to get into the habit anyone can. When I first started my little fitness journey I would many times have fast food right after lol not the best post workout meal 😂 my fav was thriftys ice cream after or just skip the gym and visit a drive thru lol really 🙃 (my chipmunk cheeks stuck with me✊🏽) It's hard/challenging at first but worth it in the long run 💪🏽 | post shoulders in my fav gym selfie area 🙆🏽 lol (plus no crazy bun/hair Mel again today I'm on a role 😂)
Morning guys!! 🤗 it's arms and abs day for me today 💪🏼 followed by a couple of hours surfing just to make sure the shoulder game is strong 😂 if you guys have never surfed before, paddling around is def an upper body workout 😵😅 #allforthegains#arms#abs#bbgweek4
Today wassssss a good day ✨ .
First real workout in about a month. It was TOUGH. It was a wildly unfocused workout that lasted just under an hour but ya know what? I got my body moving and I enjoyed it. I put on some good tunes and stopped holding myself to some crazy unrealistic standard. 🔭
Hardest part is over! I did legs today because y'all know I hate training lower body. But that means I get to look forward to an upper body lift tomorrow 😼 .
I know I should post more regularly on here - I just never want to do it superficially because 'I should'. My posts come from the heart and sometimes the heart ain't feelin' it 🙃 .
Thank you all for the constant, unwavering support. It means so much to me 😻😻 #ButIveBeenLivin#LetsGetActive#AdventureTime
Week 2 of the cleanse has been eye opening. When my vision is not blurred by images of fast food neon signs it becomes clear that this is the way we are supposed to fuel our bodies. I feel in control, more energetic and can confidently say I am not even craving fast food or any of the fat and calorie laden foods that I have often depended on. Looking forward to the benefits this lifestyle has to offer!
I'm not a huge fan of ketogenic diets for the average, healthy person looking to lose some body fat. Mainily because people think that there is some kind of "magic" that happens on a low carb diet when in actuality it is just the caloric deficit created within the diet and would see the same results on a high/moderate carb diet as long as calories are equated. 🔹
However this study addresses the use of a keto diet within medicine IF a metabolic syndrome has already been diagnosed. There is also literature out there that shows a keto diet can help reduce cancer tumors that primarily use glucose for energy. 🔹
I am obviously not an expert, but this definitely helped me reiterate the difference between using nutrition as a tool for fat loss and using different diets as medical treatment. Understand for the healthy individual without any metabolic syndromes, a keto diet is not magic. The most important factor for fat loss is maintaining a proper caloric deficit, regardless of a high or low carb diet. Chose the diet that you can adhere to consistently and helps you reach your goals 👍
Life has its ups and downs...we call them squats.
Lots of leg and glute work the past few days! Definitely feeling it, but that just means I'm building muscle! These Bulgarian split squats are one of my favorite moves. Do these for a minute and your legs will be on fire!
It's the start of week 5! 🖐
5 out of 9 weeks of my current workout program...
I've attempted this program in the past, and never made it past week 4...
So today was a mile stone for me... 😊
Last time I went on vacation halfway through and never bothered to finish...
I'm determined not to get off track this time!
Week 🖐 is all about core cardio and balance...
Super excited to push forward and add this program to my completion list!
If anyone is looking for a workout partner in crime let me know!
I still have 3 spots left in my May Health and Fitness Group!
Not to mention the price will be increasing on Monday... just saying 😉
Please comment below or message me for more details! 💌
We start MONDAY! 😊
Snacking on this berry smewthie bowl as I meal prep for the first time in 5ever!! 😨 Honestly, for the past month my diet has been terrible, eating out for almost every meal bc I was always on the go, traveling from Palo Alto --> work --> SF --> work on repeat and fitting the gym in there somewhere everyday-ish and then there was Coachella and so on and so forth. But that's no excuse! Today, after an exhausted and unwholesome day of work I told myself I'm sick of feeling like a piece of 💩 all the time haha and I'm finally gunna fix my diet and start meal prepping again 😁 still gotta work out the kinks of my crazy schedule but I'm going to try to designate at least one night a week when I can meal prep. Super stoked to start eating my own food again and can't wait to share it! Diet really is so important to feeling good and having gr8 workouts. Happy Tuesday~~ xx
Ladies and Gentlemen. Victory is Victory....Remember, we are all working to different goals, in different ways...With different bodies. Celebrate your wins.....And stop laughing at my lame-ness when I get excited to see your muscles popping out 😜
"There is nothing more powerful than a person determined to rise" 👊🏻 You should have goals so big they scare you. I used to limit myself because I was afraid of failing. I'm a perfectionist and didn't want to disappoint myself (and others), but then I realized that I can take those "failures" and actually learn from them. It isn't really a failure if you put all your effort and heart into it. Things may not always go as planned, but maybe there's a reason why. I truly believe "everything happens for a reason". Maybe there's something bigger waiting right around the corner. Don't be your own limitation. Set some big ass goals. Believe in your capabilities. And do work. They may seem impossible to you right now, but step by step, you will figure out how to make those goals become a reality. #bestselfmentality
