Happy #thursdaze !! Today is the final day of the 🌎 #EarthlyGoddesses 🌎 challenge. Today's pose is yogis choice of pose or free flow. I chose my forearm inversion practice becauseeeee I'm noticing that the more and more I try it, the easier it becomes. I keep inching further away from the wall, and my arms grow stronger and hold me up right longer. Rather than lifting my head up and looking to the floor or behind me, I decided to try this one looking forward upside down. Which was absolutely nerve racking at first. But I found it a lot easier to keep my mid section aligned this way. .
It is truly a testament to never give up on something you absolutely love. People get frustrated (myself included) when things don't go how they planned or a pose doesn't look right. I know that yoga is something you're supposed to listen to your body to do properly. Which I do. But I've come to find that pushing yourself just a little bit past your comfort zone is exactly how you grow stronger and more flexible. A little bit of pain just means your muscles are flexing and opening up to this new feeling. Yes, it's gonna be sore, but that's how you know you actually worked your body. That's how you know you're making progress. Yes, being upside down is scary and you may fall and bust your ass. But as the saying goes: no pain, no gain. And with yoga it is no exception. Don't push further than your body will allow. But don't cradle yourself and work on nothing but easy shit because you're afraid of a little bit of soreness. Change doesn't happen when everything stays the same. This applies to all aspects of life✌🏼that's my home yogi advice for today. Have a lovely one. 💜 .
Hamstring muscles refer to those muscles that lie on the back of the upper leg and the thighs, running from just beneath the knee up to the buttocks. They are strong muscles that can stretch up to 1.5 times their size, with regular stretching exercises.
Improved blood circulation and relief for an aching back, besides the obvious advantage of a supple body that you can bend at will.
Breathing too gets regulated as one inhales and exhales deeply as the muscle is stretched and relaxed.
These stretches can be done by anyone: children, women, adults and even seniors, who can choose to do those exercises they find comfortable.
Hamstring stretches can also help provide relief from a chronic back pain.
Longer muscles provide relief from lower back pain and ease away the aches.
Stretching your hamstring before and after you finish your workout improves the flow of blood to your muscles.
Increased blood flow to your muscles also means an increased flow of oxygen.
If the stretching is included in your routine, your muscles are less sore after a work-out.
Stretching carries extra nutrients to your muscles and prevents any discomfort, thus helping you to recover faster after your work-out.
As a result of this, you can get better results and perform even more exercises. #yoga#leg#stretch#hamstrings#hips#musclelengthen#warmups#forlongplanerides#roadtrips#deskjobs
Hanging is one of my favorite stretches for loosening up my lats and upper back muscles. It's perfect for a day after working on upper body. Plus it aids in chin-ups/ pull-ups. I was pissed I forgot my gloves you should see my hands. Tightening your grip creates a more intense stretch.
