It hurt my soul a little to not run today in this weather, but I more than made up for it with 30 minutes on the elliptical this morning and a monstrous leg day after work. #throwbackthursday to @trailsplus Urban Trail Series race 1 at Brimbank Park two weeks ago...it was more of a grimace than a smile as I crossed the finish line in the 10km event coming in 8th female and 19th overall in a time of 52:02. The hills and the heat made it one of the toughest events I've ever done but I loved it and will be at the start line again this Sunday at Princes Park for the next race in the series.

Mile repeats today!! (Pic from a while ago) 👆🏼Best thing ever though: I was running my recovery between miles at the park today and overheard a man calling his wife. He said so excitedly, "I walked 5 miles today"...and she screamed, "OMG honey I am SO proud of you". I couldn't help but smile so big. 🙌🏻 We forget that we all started somewhere. We forget to be proud of our next accomplishment. We forget to be SO freaking proud of other people too. 👊🏻S/O to that dude...I am so proud of you. And thank you for reminding me. And for the joy you brought my last mile repeat when I wanted to quit. The little things.

Some days I run 5 miles in a row, other days I try to run 6 and have to stop every 2. It's called balance right? But seriously, listening to your body is the most important, even if it frustrates you ✌🏻

Most days I have a long ride home from work so one of my favorite things to do is to stop somewhere on my way home that I have never run before. It breaks up the ride and sometimes saves me from either running with a head lamp or on the treadmill. Today was Lincoln woods state park in Rhode Island. That feeling you get when you've finished your workout. Six miles for the day. This has not been a good month running wise but at least I'm finishing strong. I'll have to make sure April is a great month! I have been challenged by a friend from @MyFitnessPal so she will keep me on track!
A little over 8 miles today with warm up and cool down. I went to the track near my office after work and did 600m repeats at about 6:45 pace, with easy 400m shuffle jogs between each. Felt really good! Was a little windy but I survived. We're over halfway through the week!
Looks like some snow/wintry mix (😬😩) for my 22 miler on Saturday which is LAME. But luckily I'm doing the run with my club (@communityrunning) so I'll have moral support and water and snacks. Always snacks! ❤🏃♀️ #ovaloffice
