FITNESS IS LIKE A FRIENDSHIP (bear with me on this one 😂)
🏃🏽♀️ It starts off as an acquaintance. You met once randomly and you really liked them, and you're interested in becoming further friends. But if 3 months pass and you haven't been bothered to keep in contact and invest further time and knowledge into them, then it's not quite the same when you next meet, and you've got to "catch up," starting all over again.
👩❤️💋👩 BUT, if you make the effort, don't cancel on them, make them part of your life, and be consistent with your efforts, then they may become your best friend. You may go through different friends to find your bezzie, or you may have several best friends who cater to different emotional needs, but eventually you work out which ones make you happy. You may have your ups and downs, and you may not like all aspects of them 100% of the time, but in general they enhance your life and make things better! (Yes, I'm still talking about fitness...)
👊🏼 Note: There's nothing wrong with acquaintances that you can call upon when you need them (eg. the odd HIIT class or jog to make you feel better.) But if you want someone to become your best friend (ie, smash specific goals) then you need to invest your time, emotions and education into them to learn more about them and make it an effective relationship.
