This lady turned 97 today. Here she is getting a mini photoshoot done to email to her family throughout the world! My two grandmothers are still alive and although with plenty of ailments, they're two of the strongest human beings I know. Having grown up with and watched them both my whole life, I've learned their survival mechanisms, I've watched them fail or get beaten down and just get back up again, I've seen them say goodbye to their friends and family as they outlive them all. The secret? The mind. This woman is the most headstrong stubborn one track minded individual I know. It doesn't matter what she sets her mind to, she'll achieve it. It doesn't matter that her body is now failing her, she'll still find a way to do things she wants to. Your mind controls everything. The days I hit personal bests in my lifts are the days I push through all physical pressures and my mind clicks into 'yes I can' mode. The hundreds of job interviews I've done and been rejected from often knocked me back but my mind knew I could do those jobs and more and that's why I kept going back, that's why I persisted and that's why I will always succeed, no matter what. I've learned this from my grandmothers, from the rows I've had with them, from the experiences we've muscled through together, from virtue of the fact they've quite literally survived everything life has thrown at them and they're still standing.
Look after your mental health. Spend time working on your self belief and self love. Know that you deserve to succeed just as much as anyone else. And then believe you can. If you crack that, you're winning at life. 💆🏽👌🏽 _____________________________

Whatever you do follow your gut. If your body is screaming no, I suggest you listen. I love to read and to listen to people's stories. Part of me thinks that if I learn stuff from others I will not make the same mistakes as others have or I will learn about different views and appreciate new perspectives. All of it, in my opinion, is very valuable but not nearly as valuable as your own intuition. You can read all the books and follow the best of the best but if it doesn't sit with you... then what?

I love taking time out and just being at this time of the day.. and looming into the sky and really enjoying the moment. Because each moment is precious and the only thing really that exists right now.. Feeling very alive in this moment right now, and even more so in my reflections on this new moon... We have spent all this week on the retreat talking about intentions and setting conscious intentions and creating purposeful affirmations.. so I just know this new moon and the coming weeks following it are going to be very exciting and meaningful for this group! ❤

It's all about creating an environment that supports and encourages the person we want to become.
I believed in willpower up until I heard Tim Ferriss talk about the subject. I interpreted it as creating multiple environments, routines, and habits that support the lifestyle you want and allows you to focus on what you want out of life.
We often look at bigger people and say well why don't they just do something about it?
The environment, habits, and routines that they have created don't support the lifestyle that we think they 'Should have'. Their brain has been hard wired to release neurotransmitters every time they have something to eat. The more that person tends to eats the more they speed up the efficiency of that pathway making it harder and harder for them to stop. Therefore this person can't just stop what they're doing and adopt a healthy lifestyle. Instead, they need help from us to give guidance, appreciation, and support in order to create an environment that supports success for themselves.
These environments, routines, and habits that we have created shape our lives. So if we don't control our environments, routines, and habits will they control us?
For a seed to achieve its greatest expression, it must come completely undone. The shell cracks, its insides come out and everything changes. To someone who doesn't understand growth, it would look like complete destruction. (Cynthia Occelli)
I've been doing a lot of unlearning and wandering neglected trails. Trails of thought that deserved my love and exploration, they were overgrown and ready to be (re)discovered.
Honoring this journey, recognizing the growth that has and will take place, and trusting in the Universe. Thankful for this wild heart of mine and those that it has gotten to partner with in this season. For so long, I hid this wild heart wanting to protect a reflection I stopped recognizing years ago. Like a snake, I am shedding skin for that no longer serves me.
Soft, revealed skin covers this wild hearted earth suit; my fingers grasping bundles of flowers and cups of tea, bright eyes, soulful musings, intuitive breath. I am grateful for this season of shedding and growth. I am grateful to recognize the reflection staring back.

Everyday is different for me, some days it's longevity, my family, my own personal gains. It takes a lot of courage for me to share this part of my private life with the world, but I do it now to empower myself and all who read to embrace our true selves. Today my #inspiration comes from a diety very close to my heart. He came to me in my hour of need and has guided me to blissful wellness. His light is beautiful and loving. He is truth and liberty, he is Enki.
Another amazing day! Our 4th day of the retreat on a little road trip to Es Canar hippy market... really fulfilling day- beginning with yoga with the lovely @tarascammell in our beautiful yoga spot that never fails to inspire and leave me basking in gratitude for where we are and how fortunate we are to be here! ❤
Our hippy market day followed by a quick dip in the sea to return home for a group coaching session I ran on the importance of affirmations, intentions and having a clear vision on what you want to create/achieve in your life! Whilst eating the amazing cacao treats we made as a group the night before.. followed by a powerful meditation ❤ can't describe really the journey we are on right now!! Last night, I took a stitching class at a local quilt shop. It's the first class I've ever taken for my textile art and I was excited about being amongst fellow artisans and people who honor a handmade tradition. I've also felt for some time that I needed to move outside of what I could teach myself, looking for the guidance of one who has more experience with embroidery technique. My husband, ever the Spock to my Captain Kirk, reminded me to set my expectations appropriately and take a deep breath. So I did. And I'm glad I did. While I learned how to make a proper French knot and hide those "unsightly stray threads," I also learned that I must trust my heart and my path more. I took this class mostly because I seek to grow, learn, and cultivate a beginner's mind. But I also took it because I am haunted by a familiar voice saying, "You're not legit because you're self-taught." And yet, the longer I do this, the more I find that there are some things that cannot be taught. There are fragments and tatters and unsightly stray threads that can only be mended by the guidance of our own hearts and minds. It is good to seek the knowledge and wisdom of those who are further down the path. For better or worse, I tend to deeply value the counsel of my elders. But perhaps the path they are further down is not always the path for me. Maybe the road ahead for me has no tracks and I must make my own way. I paid $20 for the class. I got a priceless lesson.
