Seen aboard our @chiarchitecture cruise: Montgomery Ward Building on the north branch of the Chicago River is the former national headquarters of Montgomery Ward, the nation's oldest mail order firm. The company went bankrupt in 2001 and the building is now home to restaurants, luxury condos, @groupon, @bigtennetwork, a spa, gym and more.
It's always good to be patient, right? Well I can tell you that I was running out of it pretty quickly that evening! To execute my plan from the N Wells St bridge was bordering impossible. Constant traffic on the bridge, the trains running on top of it every 20 sec, it makes it so hard to bracket shots at this hour that I wanted to quit after 15 min. Anyway, two hours later and a full 128GB memory card I was able to cover the dynamic range needed and get 6 sharp exposures to finish this peace. I was shooting with the 24mm tilt-shift lens, shifting the lens up to get the right perspective and frame the most of the buildings. What do you think?
