"Know Pain. Know Gain" .
I woke up this morning, and had decided I would take a rest day. Had been to the gym 8 days in a row and 14/15 days. I have the day off from work, so I thought I might just catch up on rest and things around the house. About half way through breakfast I got the urge to train, and well... you know the rest. .
What made today so vastly different, was that it was leg day and I was just going in to get good quality lifts in. As I started my working sets on my squats, I realized I was feeling really good, and had some extra juice that I wasn't anticipating. (Especially considering I nearly didn't get to the gym) .
As we get to work, and keep working, and pushing, I found myself obliterating my PR on squats. Putting on plates, and reps that I had never even considered. At the end of the sets, I had finished with 365lbs for 2 reps. As I was telling @jjchurchillrtr and @thegregest about what had just happened, I did some quick math in my head and realized something very special to me had just happened. After nearly 4 years of training and what used to seem like an illusion, a vastly distant goal. I had finally joined the 1000lb Club. (365lb squat. 355lb deadlift. 295lb bench) Something I had truly been striving for my entire fitness journey. I stood in the middle of the gym, and shed a few happy tears, because I couldn't even believe it... to think I almost didn't go to the gym today. .
This is easily my proudest moment in fitness, and I'm just happy to be able to share something like this. .
Don't ever give up. Don't ever quit on yourself. Believe in who you are, what you do, and what you feel your purpose is. .
"Stay humble, stay focused, be the hardest worker in the room."
Very excited to share this training bid I did with all of you #fitfam . Huge thanks to @gordonly with @lyvisuals for creating this video. Words can't express how pleased I am with the turn out!
Because what do you do when you officially own your own business? You flex of course! 😂💪🏼Sweeney Fitness, LLC is officially official. @mr.sweendogg and I have so many big dreams for this little company of ours - and we are so excited to continue our journey in the fitness industry as an official brand- we are still just a baby but can't wait to see where we are led through our faith and with the sole goal of serving others within this industry. It's going to be a lot of hard work and lots of attention to detail to get this right but we're up for the challenge and here to put the work in 🤗
We've already got some things in the works that I can't wait to share! Thank you to all of my clients, both online and in person, for believing in our brand so early on- we love you ❤now let's keep grinding together 💪🏼💪🏼 On another note, we are on the hunt for some marketing help, if anyone has some good referrals throw them our way 🙌🏼🙌🏼
Part 1 🎥Tendon Tuesday: a big part of avoiding tendon injuries as runners is to ensure we don't 'spike' our training loads. How do we know if we have spiked our loads? The acute chronic workload ratio is an objective way of quantifying and tracking training loads. It's also a way of discovering your training 'sweet spot'. That place where you are neither under training nor over training. We want a ratio of 0.8-1.3. Stay tuned for a practical example next Wednesday. Prepping for a high intensity cycle class 🚴. I just received @yellowstonenutra 's XM25 Preworkout, so I figured there's no better day to try it! Definitely going to need the extra fuel today 😅
