Things people are needlessly afraid of, but shouldn't be.
A beautiful Henidactylid gecko.
Got a call in the wee hours of morning for this one. "We have a snake... I think it's a cobra!" Turned out to be a harmless gecko. "Can you take it away, please?" Spent a few minutes telling the fine folks who called me, about the invaluable pest control services offered by the ubiquitous house gecko.
Found a new pond tonight that im deffinatly going to be visiting more often🐸
American toad (Anaxyrus Americanus)
Egg mass from one of dozens of pairs observed tonight
#Copperhead#snake found in a rock quarry, trying to not get stepped on. This juvenile is probably less than a year old, and has a nice bright green tail. Copperheads are pit vipers that see both in the visible light spectrum and in the infrared, where they can see the heat given off by small mammals. Pit vipers are also deaf, like all snakes, but might be able to feel the vibrations caused by sound hitting the substrate they are sitting on. #wildlife#wildlifephotography#nature#naturephotography#herpetology
