In my barrage of pics on South Indian food, here I present to you another cup of piping hot filter coffee and a leaf which has pongal and vada served.
For those who are not aware of what a filter coffee is, it is prepared from milk and an extract of coffee filtered from a traditional filter used in South Indian households. It is served in a mini glass colloquially called tumbler and a saucer called "Davara". ..
Pongal is a preparation from rice with a bunch of spices and pure ghee. It is primarily associated with one of the key festivals in Tamil Nadu "Pongal" where rice is harvested from the fields and Pongal is prepared in large earthen pots to celebrate the occasion.
As I am in the town of Kumbakonam, I am making sure not to miss any of these delicacies. The place famous for its filter coffee is one not tonne miss out on.
What a night! Big love to the @leavesoftreesto Boss Lady for organizing this amazing night out with the team! We learned to cook a vegan, Indian meal, pretty much from scratch... chutneys, tamarind sauce, chapati, pakoras all in the beautiful @appetitoevents space. 😋😁 #goodfood#goodconversation#goodtimes#joblove
