Four month #ketoversary side by side!! Left is from Jan 26th at 133.8lbs and right is May 26th at 114.0lbs... SO close to a 20 pound difference. Hubby wasn't here to do my good side by sides so this will have to suffice for now. Same clothes and tried for same pose for good comparison. Just proves that no matter how hard this journey is, it is so worth the results. Never give up and trust the process. This month I only lost 1.8 pounds BUT I lost 0.5% body fat which is huge. Stay the course and trust the process are two things I tell myself almost daily. I am not finished yet but I am very proud of the progress I've made and the determination I have to reach my goals (which by the way is to have visible abs). Ahhhh one day. What are your fitness goals?!?!

Great exercise for the lats and upper back when performed correctly.

The clip marked with an "❌" is the incorrect example I see most often & there are several things wrong with it. It may seem slightly exaggerated to some, but this is what I see on a daily basis.

1️⃣Rounded shoulders/back putting stress on the spine
2️⃣Keeping the head up which puts your neck in an awkward/vulnerable position
3️⃣Using too much weight and only going through a partial or half range of motion is also extremely common (not filmed)

The video marked with a ✅ is how I perform the exercise & how I teach it to clients.

1️⃣Position a bar into a landmine or in a corner to keep it from moving. Load an appropriate weight onto your end (it's probably less than you think)
2️⃣Stand over the bar, and position a V grip or Double D row handle around the bar next to the collar. Pick up the load by hinging at the hip and not just squatting and rising.
3️⃣	Assume a shoulder width stance with your hips back and your chest up. Your arms should be extended. This will be your starting position.
4️⃣	Pull the weight toward your belly button by retracting the shoulder blades and flexing the elbows. Do not jerk the weight or cheat during the movement.
5️⃣Try and focus on lifting through the elbows, imagine your hands as hooks.
6️⃣Squeeze the shoulder blades together and pause for 1-2 seconds and ensure your back contracts.
7️⃣Lower the weight back down with control until your shoulders are in slight protraction.
8️⃣Repeat for desired number of reps.

• This couldn't have come on a better day! 😃
• This mornings workout was 26mins long! Perfect way to start off the holiday weekend, short and straight to the point! Just how I like it!
• Don't get me wrong...I worked by butt off the entire 26mins! In fact I burnt just as many calories today as I do during the 36min. ones!
• Just because it's a holiday weekend doesn't mean my goals go on holiday! It's always harder for me to start up my routine after being absent for a few days, then it is to just get up and make it happen each day!

If you want to set that #booty on 🔥, weighted glute bridges are the way to go! A lot of people do these hanging off the side of a bench, but that adds unnecessary pressure to the lower back. I prefer to be on the ground w/ a regular barbell or fixed barbell. The 🔑 is to pause & really let the rear kick-in. If it's burning, it's working! Add in some arms & you've got yourself a close to full body #workout.👍

Really unhappy with myself today. I keep wanting to take the steps to get back to really healthy eating, and regular 4 or more times a week exercise. It's there, that I can at least say "You may not completely respect yourself Siobhan, but at least you are looking after yourself and being proactive in your health." The fact that I know where I want to be but am too useless to take the steps to get there, is really leaving me disappointed in myself, amd feeling low. I also feel blobbier than I have in years. This extra weight, feels like possibly more than it looks, but it is subjective really. Isn't it. I started my weight loss journey 1 year and 4 months ago, when I was 17 years old and a senior in high school. I hated my life, my body and couldn’t handle who I was anymore. I have since lost 100lbs, finished my freshman year of college less than I weighed when I started, turned 18 and gave myself a second chance at life before it even started. 
Sometimes I still see 275lb Lauren when I look in the mirror, I find myself in shock when I remember how I used to be. Sometimes I still feel anxious and depressed, I find myself dealing with that in healthier, non food ways than I did before. One thing I never do is forget where I started, I never want to be that miserable again ✨✨
