Opel GT (2007-2009)
Here is the first of several photos of Opel's I took at the Opel car meet in Oschersleben, Germany about a week ago. This is an interesting colored Opel GT. The Opel GT was the successor of the Opel Speedster. Opel revealed the GT back in March 2006 in Geneva. In 2007 it become "the convertible of the year 2007". When the GT was released, Opel choosed some interesting slogans for their most sporty model: "GT'aime" (French: je t'aime = I love you) or "The Legend is back". The GT is based on a GM platform. Therefore many other models were based on the same platform like the Saturn Sky, the Pontiac Solstice or the Daewoo G2X. All 4 models were produced in Wilmington, Delaware. This plant produced 107.658 cars but only 7.519 Opel GT's. As you can see, it's a Roadster. An electric powered roof wasn't available. So it's kind of a "pure" convertible. The engine was already known from other Opel models but Opel modified it. It was powered by a 2 litre engine with 264 hp. This engine accelerates the GT in just 5.7 seconds from 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph). What's your opinion on this one? Do you like this color? I'm interested in your thoughts. The good thing on this car is, that I didn't need to blurry the numberplate because it was hiding underneath the bumper.
