O N L Y U S.
This week I had a moment when I realized: I was THAT. THAT woman, THAT mom, THAT daughter.
It took my breath away.
Me? No. It can't be. I'm not the one makes foolish choice (again.) I'm not the one whose kid has issues. I'm not the one whose mom has health problems.
I'm not THAT person.
That's not me.
Being on the other side of THAT is humbling. Uncomfortable. I can't keep it quiet, I can't hide behind clever words or a pretty photograph. It's all just OUT THERE.
And then it hit me: we are all THAT. We are all THEM. We are all in this together. Beautiful, fragile, + flawed.
This coming week, may we give ourselves + each other the grace to be all out there. As a beautiful, fragile, + flawed family of people.
There is no THEM.
There's only US.
