April showers bring May flowers and I am SO ready for the scent of lilacs! First thing I'm doing when I become a homeowner is planting a lilac bush!
It's one of those nostalgic scents that brings happiness. My parents had one in our backyard growing up and that scent always floods my mind with memories of "kick the can", tag, lemonade stands, and goofing around.
My family has grown apart quite a bit from that time, but this scent is forever engrained. It's my happy place. ❤
Had to share this photo by @logicandgrace when I saw it. Thanks for the nostalgia!
Now THIS is what I call fast food. Honestly, farmers markets are the greatest. You get to be in your community, try and learn new things, support small businesses/farms (aka rad people who work really hard to provide us rad food), everywhere you look there's something green (idk bout you but that alone makes me happy), people are in good moods, and you get to meet new people.. And if anything, they're a place where you can get quality products for the same amount that you can get them at a grocery store (usually). For example, a bunch of kale I saw here was the same amount that I could get at Safeway for the same price. And who would I rather support (no offense huge corporate Safeway..)? The farmers and small businesses. There's so much love and dedication to make these goods grow for us, that I just feel like I'm doing a good thing too when I buy my groceries at a farmers market. Put all these things I mentioned above together and you have a happy Morgan. 😆
Here's a tip. If you don't think buying all of your groceries at a farmers market is doable, have a budget when you go. Kelsey (@fueledbyfoods) and I can only spend $20 whenever we go. We limit ourselves, and it really makes us stop and think of where we are going to spend it, which honestly makes it more fun in my opinion. Plus, it allows me to think if I will actually eat all of the food that I buy, therefore minimizing the amount of food in my fridge going to waste because I didn't eat it fast enough.
Just stuff to think about ☺️ do you all stop at farmers stands and farmers market to buy your food?? Happy Saturday 🌿
