WEEK 13: The first glimpse of summer.
Indeed, for a lot of the UK this weekend, summer poked its head out from behind the spring. Wasn't it glorious? despite the chilly wind. Lovely too to have the extra daylight on Sunday evening which will be great for 'after work' lawn cutting.
On the nursery we are still producing but more focus is shifting towards attempting to keep the sales areas filled. This is not an easy task so we do apologise if we run out of something. In a lot of cases, this will only be a temporary set back but unfortunately, sometimes, things run out for good. This situation is not always in our control especially in the case of 'ordered in ' stock.
Speaking of 'running out' of things, this is our last shout out for summer #flowering#bulbs & #seed#potatoes . Both are VERY low in stock.
Now....whats NEW? Due to high demand we have opened a couple of greenhouses. #Pot grown #vegetables such as #tomatoes (74p each), #cucumber#courgette , #marrow & #pumpkin (99p each) are now ready for those of you with heated greenhouses or light, bright heated conservatories. They MUST be kept frost free & are weak rooted so not immediately suitable for transplanting or potting up. Please let them #grow on in their pots for a while first.
We have also opened our #patio#plant & #geranium (#pelargonium ) greenhouses. At the moment we have a selection of #surfinia available. The rest of the patio plants will follow as we progress into April. These too are aimed at eager, experienced #growers as they need protection. The recognised time for planting outside for this style of annual plant isn't until mid-May, or when the threat of frost has subsided.
A long update today. A lot to tell you about & advice to give. We don't wish to bore you, so we will split the info up into post throughout this week.
Ciao for now,
Happy gardening everyone.
And so our little road trip has come to an end.. Rishikesh > Delhi > Varanasi > Darjeeling
I've had the most incredible three weeks, being able to see and experience things I could only have dreamed of.
I thought it would be easy riding around India taking in breathtaking views, but it's so much more than that. I have so much admiration for bikers, it ain't easy road tripping but I cannot WAIT to get my own Enfield ,, and when I do, it'll be road trip number 2 !
