Here are 3 quick tips to help you stay the course towards your fitness goals this Memorial Day:
A) Balance your beverages. Divide your body weight in half and aim to drink (at least) that many ounces of quality water.
B) Time will tell. Allow somewhere between 15-30 minutes to pass before getting that second plate of food. You may be more full than you think.
C) Variety in veggies. Add some color to your plate and opt. for real, whole food snacks to compliment those grilled items.
And that's it. Simple, meaningful and impactful choices to enjoy a healthy holiday.
"...Whatever circumstance we find ourselves in can ultimately be used for our good, God's glory and somehow the advance of the gospel." 🌷🌷🌷I'm so glad neither my God nor the truth of the gospel are bound by circumstances! #sundaymeditation#encouragement
It's easy to see God's goodness when life is sweet. When our hearts are happy our eyes are open to His glorious presence and the beauty of His creation all around us. But sometimes life is just plain hard. It's in these times we must hold fast to this simple truth: God is good all the time. #livinginthetensionofjoyandheartbreak
How cute are these succulents? I love them so much! I've been making these things like crazy getting ready for next weekend! 😁 More on that later! If you'd like to snag one of these link in my description!
"...if anything is excellent or praiseworthy - think about such things. Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me - put it into practice. And the God of peace will be with you." Philippians 4:8-9
Many times when we read this verse, we may glaze over it and think "Oh okay, think positive, be kind to each other." This week I've been confronted with the same thought several times and feel compelled to share it.
What else does this verse apply to? What about what we watch? What we listen to? Entertainment purposes? Are these things influencing our thoughts?
There are two reasons we should pay very close attention to what we consume digitally. 1. It influences our walk with Christ. 2. It may create a stumbling block for others.
As Christians, we are not to conform to this world. (Romans 12:2) So we shouldn't be doing what everyone else does! The fact that something is popular or catchy does not erase the sexual, violent, or profane messages it contains. It doesn't make it lovely or pure or admirable! And the more we partake in things with this type of content, the more we become immune to it and don't even notice it! It can get into our thinking without us even noticing.
Second, we are told not to create a stumbling block for someone else (1 Corinthians 10:32-33). I don't want a new Christian to hear me listening to something that is not aligned with Scripture and think I support the behavior mentioned in the song and that it's condoned by the Lord. We need to think about who could be influenced by the choices we make and what we say about living for Christ through our decisions. I don't want to be a person who goes to church on Sunday and blares sexually explicit music the rest of the week.
Friends, I'm not telling you to purge your iTunes and movie libraries. But I do think it's wise to review what we take in and ask ourselves: Does this line up with Philippians 4:8? How is this valuable to me? Does it further my relationship with God?
I love to provide encouragement to others. The biggest reward to me lately has been a few lady followers (that I do not know personally) taking the time to message me and thank me for the encouragement that my page has provided to them. This is the biggest blessing of all. My prayer is that the Lord will continue to use me to shine His light. #vesselforchrist#encouragement#motivation#love#reallifewithjenna#bethelight
"For through him God created everything in the heavenly realms and on earth. He made the things we can see and the things we can’t see— such as thrones, kingdoms, rulers, and authorities in the unseen world. Everything was created through him and for him. He existed before anything else, and he holds all creation together." --Colossians 1:16-17 (NLT)
Oftentimes, I get overwhelmed by hard days, weeks, and months. Life is stressful right now. But as a believer, I know that God is my glue, and He is holding everything together. It doesn't matter what changes I go through in life, He is the one in control.
Thank goodness I'm not, because I would royally screw it all kinds of up! 😂
Have a beautiful Sunday, you insanely awesome people!! 💕
What are you all up to today, creatives? 🎨✨ This photo by @kendracastillodesigns has us all 😍 this post in particular however, she talks about letting go of fear, and how much fear probably holds us creatives down and it shouldn't! We need to be an encouraging community for one another, that's for sure 💖 Always feel free to reach out to other makers and artists and designers for help to overcome your fears as well...we're in this together! 🙌🏼 xo!
Nothing else gives me peace then being with Jesus. Some days I can feel the emptiness of everything and it gnaws at me. I hate how easy it is for my heart to wander, for my eyes to look away from His. But He never leaves- He is always here, even now. He is faithful and patient and full of love. I am a work in progress and He's promised to finish what He has begun.
Rest in His presence and let yourself be embraced by Him. He is near, no matter how far you've run. Come home, beloved because the Father desires you.
Nothing else in life makes sense other than Him.
