Did you know that one of the world's largest Hindu temples is in suburban Atlanta? BAPS Siri Swaminayaran Mandir temple in Gwinnett County brought hand carved stone from India. The temple offers tours to visitors and they also have a vegetarian restaurant serving authentic cuisine.
This past month has been full of a lot of transition and decision making. One of the biggest changes has been moving into a new house with these three girls who were all strangers to me. This is Megan, Ana, Lena and myself. I knew I was needing some newness in my life and Megans boyfriend told me that these girls were looking for a 4th roommate. After talking with her once, I decided to move in. I didn’t even see the inside of the house before I agreed to do it. I could sense that it was good. I am going to introduce these girls to you in a little more detail, but first I want to post some of the photos/stories I have had on the backburner (not on purpose… the move and some other personal projects have been keeping me busy). ❤💛💙 This brings me to another decision I have made recently that I want to share, though. I am going to try and stay in Atlanta for a little while. I LOVE traveling and meeting strangers all over the place, but my heart is telling me to try staying still. Atlanta has so much to offer and so many beautiful people living inside of it. I am excited to see what happens when I try to sprout some roots and be more involved in this community. I still have stuff to share from a recent trip to Baltimore, but be looking out for the Atlanta locals in the future. There will be lots of happy atliens in this feed. #happystrangers
This weekend in Atlanta: It's Friday and the sun is shining! Atlanta has been trying to cramp my style with all this rain. So another reason I love Atlanta is because there's always something happening in the city. I got your weekend round-up right here. -Pretty Girls Like Trap Music TrapHouse- You wouldn't be doing Atl right if you didn't hit the hip-hop scene. -Visit Atlanta's Skyline Garden to get some beautiful pics in front of the best backdrop in the city. -Old Fourth Ward Arts Festival -Sunset Sessions at Piedmont Park -Lawn Party at Oakland Cemetary
-Braves vs Brewers -Castleberry Hill Street Art Walk
-Grab a bite to eat from Ponce City Market.
Anything else happening, that we should check out? Drop it in the comments below.

My second job after graduating from college was in a super small town where there was absolutely nothing to do on the weekends. At the time, I was just glad to be out of my parents' house, so I used to cope with small town life by cooking...A LOT. I tried new recipes every week and I always snapped photos of them on a digital camera to look back at my work 💁🏽 (I had a purple Blackberry back then that was no good for taking photos, so cell phone pics weren't an option 😂 #vintage ). When I moved to Atl for my next job, I was excited to be in a city with tons of stuff to do. I went to all the festivals, the day parties, the night parties, the brunches, the concerts, the happy hours. 😅 And here I am, 5 and a half years later, just ready to relax and try new recipes again on the weekends. 😂 Cooking is truly therapeutic for me, plus I need to eat healthy anyway and the best tasting healthy food is the food you cook yourself, right? // Enjoy your weekend, whether you're out on the scene or relaxing at home, like me. 🤗
#tbt - My mom lives in the north woods of Wisconsin, where "next-door neighbors" might be a mile or two down the road. Every year, ruby-throated hummingbirds swarm to her feeders, and it isn't uncommon to see dozens at a time darting in and out for a nip nectar. I made this frame two summers ago, having to shoot long and through her screen door. I love this frame for the stillness of an otherwise restless bird, but also because of the lone drop of nectar dangling from her beak.
