I'm really proud of this guy. Riley has been editing lots of shows for Coast FM Radio this week. It's been a pleasure having him on board for work placement. Stay tuned. I've got some more shots of his classmates tomorrow.
Sadly this is what you get when you staff your cabinet with people that are long on ideology and short on experience. So we really should loosen controls on for-profit-collages? After all they have such a proven track record of producing quality products for the dollars students have shelled out for their services. If we put foxes in charge of hen houses we better not be surprised when the foxes have a mouth full of feathers. #forprofitcolleges#devos#departmentofeducation#secretaryofeducation#notqualified
Shortly after proposing a budget that would decimate programs that support the poor, Trump takes his 5th trip to his resort at Mar-a-Lago. We fact-checked the numbers that have been circulating: the cost per trip is roughly $2 million of taxpayer money. Just two of those trips could have funded the US Interagency Council on Homelessness for the entire year. www.washingtonpost.com/amphtml/news/politics/wp/2017/03/17/how-much-is-donald-trumps-travel-and-protection-costing-anyway/
[In my Laurence Fishburne, School Daze Voice]
#EDUCATION IS NOT AN EQUALIZER WHEN IT COMES TO IMPOVERISHED YOUTH! The problem is not at school, the problem is the environment that affects our youth from excelling in school! Well I have a nice 13 page annotated bibliography I did for one of my classes that can prove what after school activities do for the urban youth! Clearly these people are uneducated! Did you know that crime rates are lower among youth because of after school programs! NOTICE THAT I SAID CRIME RATE IS LOWERED... maybe his plan is to let these kids dabble into these things and get them locked up. There are always ulterior motives!
Those bullying assemblies at school don't seem to be working. Luckily this boy has an amazing father, unlike so many other kids.
@Regrann from @vegans_are_fucking_awesome - This is parenting done right 👌
And what a sweet, gentle child 😍
I can't emphasize this enough. I know it can be difficult to live in a world where everyone is always judging or criticizing, comparing, belittling, making others feel their negative/lower vibrations due to their own inadequacies, sadness, disconnection/frustration. And this happens all throughout our lives, not just in primary or secondary school. It happens within our own families. Wherever people exist, there will be some form of negative opinion and judgment.
But remember this always: it has NOTHING TO DO WITH YOU.
And please also remember, that whatever vibrations you are putting out into the world will also be felt and reflected. Stay conscious and be mindful - of your words, your intentions, your actions.
Keep shining. Keep loving. Keep it light.
But be you. Whatever that means. Be you. 11:11 - #regrann
1 of 4 #TrumpCuts#Trump 's #budget says hundreds of programs & agencies would be eliminated — with more than 50 in the Environmental Protection Agency. But his first budget proposal identified 62 specifically. The list:
Water & Wastewater loan & grant program ($498 million): "Rural communities can be served by private sector financing or other federal investments in rural water infrastructure, such as the Environmental Protection Agency's State Revolving Funds," the budget says.
McGovern-Dole International Food for Education program ($202 million): Trump's budget says the program — a sort of 3rd World school lunch project — "lacks evidence that it is being effectively implemented to reduce food insecurity." #DepartmentOfCommerce
Economic Development Administration ($221 million): Obama's 2017 budget touted the agency as " the only federal government agency with a mission & programs focused exclusively on economic development." The Trump budget says it has "limited measurable impacts & duplicates other federal programs." Minority Business Development Agency ($32 million): The White House says this minority business incubator program is "duplicative" of other programs in the Small Business Administration.
Supporting Effective Instruction State Grants program ($2.4 billion): The White House says the program is "poorly targeted & spread thinly across thousands of districts with scant evidence of impact." 21st Century Community Learning Centers program ($1.2 billion): The formula grants to states support before- & after-school & #summerprograms . "The programs lacks strong evidence of meeting its objectives, such as improving student achievement," the budget says.
Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant program ($732 million): This financial aid program, known as SEOG, help give up to $4,000 a year to college students based on financial need. The Trump administration says it's a "less well-targeted" program than Pell Grants.
Striving Readers Comprehensive Literacy Program ($190 million): The grants are targeted toward students with disabilities or limited English proficiency.
