Today I rode the 6th Ty Gobaith Ffestiniog 360 cycle sportive. Called so as it follows a route that circum-navigates Snowdon on fantastic roads ; roads I've been cycling since 2008.
I didn't plan on riding hard but I ended up doing so anyway; I just went with it. I got off just after 08:30 to avoid the scrums on the first downhill out of Blaenau, and had maybe two guys catch me the entire route; I felt so good!
At the second CP apparently I was only the 5th rider through! My average speed was really good: I got into Betws after 80km @ 2hrs 55 and with a 28.9km/h average; way above what I expected! But I knew it would drop climbing up the Crimea Pass, where I took this shot. From here it was a couple of km down hill back to the start point. To finish on the timings I got I am so pleased 😊
What a superb event again put on by Ty Gobaith: huge thank you to all volunteers and marshals for looking out for us again, see you again next year 😊😊 #cycling#roadcycling#roadcyclingpics#roadride#lovecycling#loveroadcycling#rideyourbike#ridewales#cyclinginsnowdonia#cyclinginwales#planetx#planetxbikes#cycology#ffestiniog360#tygobaith
'Desdemona' is even more vain than 'Capitu'. When we're climbing, she'll often be like "Hey, lean me there and take a picture, now, it will look great!".
This photo was one such occasion. I guess I must agree with her - the bike was right. 🚲
