🔹An easy way to add a bit more core and glute work to the basic push-up! 🔹Do 10 (total) right now! 🔹You'll also see these in this week's 20-Minute Total Body Workout!
🔹Start in high plank with hands slightly wider than your shoulders and find full body strength-firm up legs, pull navel in, push through hands. 🔹Inhale: Bend your elbows to lower down and lift your right toes off the ground. Be sure to squeeze your right glute (butt) and drive back through your heel! 🔹Exhale (through mouth): Press back up and set toes down.
🔹Repeat alternating legs.
🔹 To modify, do these on your knees and extend back though the leg that lifts!

It seems like this is an on going debate in the fitness world and I am constantly seeing articles on which way is better but the truth is, it's a preference thing, neither way is right or wrong. I love having a full day of core work, and I love starting my week off with it. I love focusing my abs and feeling the burn my entire workout. I also know people that just do a little core work every day, and that's perfectly fine too. Doing basic lifts/ movements works your core too like deadlifts, squats, lunges, and those are just some. In the end, do what you feel works best for you, and excel through confidence in yourself and your body!💪🏻

It also requires core stability, balance and coordination. It could be a great sport conditioning exercise for basketball! Do 10-12 reps in each side per set X 2-3 sets. Consistency is key to achieving success. I haven't had a gym membership for over 2 years. I found programs that were all laid out for me that I could do at home and committed to following the plan. Home work outs finally allowed me to be consistent and the results followed. I have nothing against the gym - but for me, getting there consistently and then not having a clear plan to follow were hurdles that impeded my progress. With the twists i had allowed him to get foot rotation so we can take it right into the cage to hit after. Mashed some baseballs to finish the workout.

I tried it about 15 times before I could actually lift my leg to a good height. My knee kept slipping from my arm. I have too many blooper pics after this one!⠀

I held it for the whooping number of 14 seconds, which felt like 14 minutes inside a volcano, with no water. Just kidding 😅⠀

Those shoulders need more strength! And I'm stronger than I used to be so God knows why this keeps getting harder 😂⠀

Core work and some handstand progress. These ball ab crunches are killer especially if you can avoid an anterior pelvic tilt and keep your hips up throughout the duration of the movement. As always nice and slow on the eccentric portion of the movement too as that's where most of the strength will come from. (⚠First 4 crunches sped up for sake of fitting video)

I've got a special treat for all you yogis who come to @hideout87 - tonight we are going to use rubber therapy balls for self-myofascial release for the first part of class. Second part of class we are going to delve deeply into our hips, focusing on (safely) increasing our range of motion and end range strength. This will be more of a static class (no vinyasa), focusing on isomeric contractions and isolating one joint at a time. My goal with tonight's class is to tune in to how your body is moving through space, how these movements will impact your yoga/crossfit/spinning/running routine. Tonight we will be learning a lot about anatomy, kinesiology, biomechanics and fascia.
