"Now, in the darkness, she clasped her hands together on the bed." -Regina Doman, Black as Night // ⚓️
Lately, I've had such a hard time putting on love, and giving love.
The past several nights I've been crying myself to sleep wondering what's wrong with me.
Just a month ago I was healing so well and seeing progress and seeing light.
Now, I'm back to where I started.
Yet, I've had discussions with friends who feel the same way & who are experiencing the same fight in their hearts and souls.
They are also wondering how is it that they are not good enough for another.
They are asking themselves what they did wrong and how they can bring that other person back.
I find myself saying to them, "There is nothing you can do to them or for them to make them understand. All you can do is decide to love them even when they do not love you. That is true love. It's the Love on the Cross." Love is so simple. It's just a decision.
And it comes with a Cross.
How you resting friend? Honestly, I'm not so great at this. But I'm learning! Do me a favor. Seek out 5 minutes of quiet in the next 24 hours.
Turn off the TV 5 minutes before you close your eyes.
Set the alarm 5 minutes earlier than normal.
Sit for 5 minutes before diving into the evening routine.
Lets be intentional about carving calm into our day!
Here is a little throwback from February to one of the rare moments when they are getting along. Honestly I adore all three of my children but some days I am just overwhelmed with the noise of three voices competing for attention. I am constantly reminding them of kindness, taking turns and laying down of self. Yet I have a difficult time laying down myself and my desire for peace. I often fail at the task of calmly redirecting their behavior and let my short temper get the best of me. I know I need to reach beyond myself for this ability. I'm curious what are your tactics to help your children treat each other with kindness and keep your home relatively calm?
Watch the news lately? Have you seen the college students rioting to shut down free speech? Have you heard about the "safe spaces" on college campuses that prevent any discourse that might hurt the feelings or offend students?

"In the time of our visitation..." that's a word I have pondered for several weeks: visitation. Today, I finally figured out what God - and the Holy Spirit- are really talking about. It has been a cold, rainy few days here and I finally caved and built a fire. I'm also finally catching up on my journaling, which is much needed today. The house is trashed and I have two diapers to change as of taking this picture lol, but the house is finally warming up and the kids are going to bed soon :) #artistherapy#bissisterhood#onthewaydoodles#blessedisshe

Chamomile with honey & my WA cup. I'm so excited to be visiting home in a few short weeks! 🌲❤️ As for the tea and honey.. this mama is exhausted! It took over an hour to get Ava to sleep, she's not use to her big girl bed and the toddler barrier you attach to the bed doesn't fit. We've tried two different ones. So for now she is rolling onto pillows and and a big ol pile of blankets but that clearly isn't sitting well. So if any mommas have any suggestions, please don't hold back! 💞 xoxo
We already miss the weekend. We miss slow mornings with all four of us cuddled in bed. We miss the smell of daddy's pancakes wafting in the air. We miss the cloudy rain storm that cleared the breeze and brought bright green leaves out into the sunshine. We miss long days at the park with cousins who love to play. Most of all we miss that bond of being together intertwined with all four of us for two entire days. So I throw on a cute shirt, dab on a bit of perfume and say, "Hello" to laundry, breakfast I can drink, and hold my breath until 5 o'clock and his arrival.
College babes 📚 Stay at home mamas 👩👧👦 Anyone struggling to pay their bills 😫💰Anyone who hates their "JOB" ➕If someone paid you $250-$500 a month to exercise, use at least one health/beauty product a day, stay positive and share your experience with others, would you do it? If yes, like this post, comment "Yes" and I'll send you a message with the details❤ ps: thank goodness for hair skin nails 🙌🏻
So when it comes to oils I am/was the biggest skeptic. So much so that MY HUSBAND (@thedirtyoiler ) had to convince me to try them. We just got our @younglivingeo starter set in the mail last Friday and I had yet to even crack the lid open to look at them. That was until this morning. My littlest who is 16 months refused to nap and my 3 year old was losing his cool. I was desperate. I saw the oils on the counter and figured what the heck... I have nothing to lose. Let's try these babies out! So I know nothing about what oils are used for what...but I saw one that said "stress away" bam! Winner winner chicken dinner. I loaded up the diffuser and within minutes my house was calm. 😱😱what!!? So I'm going to try this whole oil thing out and see what happens🌿
And as my husband would say #oilup 🏴
I'm a SUPER WOMEN 😜! ⠀
What was your feeling when you watched my workout session ? ⠀
Made you laugh, smile, thinking " crazy", made you tired, overwhelmed? ⠀
Most of us Ladies, with good intentions try to do everything, in the same time! ⠀
Our lives are a " workout class" - we will never be able to be successful in what we do if we try to multitask!⠀
Determine your priorities and focus on one activity at the time! ⠀
What I multitask: starting laundry while I workout. ⠀
So I encourage you, give your 100% to what you do now! ⠀
We are not a spaghetti 🍝 bowl as the world tells us! We are made in God's image-He is a God of order, no chaos- He did not create everything in one day- there is a time for everything! ⠀
If this encouraged you, or you have a friend that lost herself in the daily huge TO DO, like, ❤️️ and share this post!
It's okay. You can let go of it. You don't have to hold onto it anymore.
I'm right here. Give Me the fear threatening to strangle you. Give Me the pain you've been holding tight in your chest. It's not good for you. It's hurting you. It doesn't belong to you.
It's a choice. With Me, you can do it. I'm here, with you, and there is no other place I'd rather be. Let Me help you.
Release it to Me.
Loosen your grip. Uncurl your fingers and offer it to Me. I will take it; it's a promise. Release it and leave it with Me.
It may be hard to let go of something you feel you have the right to grip so tight, something that has become a part of you because you've gripped it for far too long. My child, it's time. I'm asking you to trust Me and My love for you, more than what you've experienced in the past.
Trust Me. Let Me give you something new in its place.
Here, in the stillness, release it to Me. I am your safe place. I hold no judgment against you. Let Me hold you as you pour out your heart to Me. Let Me bring you healing.
When you release it to Me, your heart will have room to receive more of Me, more of My love, more of My peace. When you let go of what you've been grasping onto, it opens your hands to grasp onto Me.
In the stillness, let go, and offer it to Me. Let Me give you something better.
All My love,
I couldn't stop staring at this today - the breaking of bread and the act of communion is the most magical thing to me. It is when He breaks bread with them that his disciples "recognize" Him. He is offering us nourishment and life and sustenance. And, in this picture, He is surrounded by those most hungry for food, love, and care - His table is open to the most humble of us all, and He will even take our loaves and fishes and faith and give us everything we never knew we needed. #blessedisshe#breadoflife#breakingbread
I have been getting swallowed up by fear by what is happening in our world for the past few weeks. I am slowly being reminded that though the tides are ever changing our Father remains the same. He is steady and safe. He is strong and all-knowing. He is comfort. He is the opposite of fear, He is love.
He is closer than my breath....closer than my breath. ❤️
Sorry friends, this is a log one... Maybe I should have made it a blog post? 😂😂😂
So Sunday evenings my sweet husband gives both kids baths and gets them ready for bed while I get an hour to re-set for the week. It's such a routine I don't usually think to mention it but since @beckyhigginsllc and project life have taught me to document the ordinary (because it's the stuff your kids will want to know about) here we go:
My Sunday night zen... The four P's- Planner, Powersheets, Pandora on my favorite station, and Pretty extras to help my productivity (wait, does that make 5 P's?). This is basically art therapy and organization all in one place. Do I NEED these things? No, I guess not. But these tools have helped me to keep this routine and look forward to it, to make sure that in the chaos of this season the really important stuff still gets done, and to transform the way I think about goal setting. That has made a bigger impact on my fight against perfectionism than I ever would have guessed, so I'm taking a minute tonight to celebrate these gifts of time and tools as we head into a new week.

Shout-out to all the mamas and papas and other brave souls bringing the itty bitty and not so itty bitty babies to church - even though we got some adorable giggles from being in the splash zone and sweet blessings of peace from lovely people around us, I may have logged a day's worth of steps walking a loudly babbling, antsy, over-tired babe back and forth and inside and out and then some... A lovely Divine Mercy Sunday nonetheless. #eastertide#divinemercy#blessedisshe
"And God has given me to understand that there is but one thing that is of infinite value in His eyes, and that is love of God; love, love and once again, love; and nothing can compare with a single act of pure love of God. Oh, with what inconceivable favors God gifts a soul that loves Him sincerely!" - from the Diary of St. Faustina ❤️ We may be little, humble souls, but we are all capable of great love! #divinemercy
Just a few more hours left! I'm partnering with @ellyandgrace to give away this awesome t-shirt right here on Instagram, and I don't want you to miss out. "Know that as often as you come to me, humbling yourself and asking my forgiveness, I pour out a superabundance of graces on your soul, and your imperfection vanished before my eyes, and I see only your love and your humility. You lose nothing but gain much...." // Christ to St. Faustina.
Happy Divine Mercy Sunday, friends!
The Bible has been a huge source of comfort and hope the last several months. These are some of the verses that I have held onto. I'd love to know some of yours. Leave them in the comments! ❤️ Post link is in my bio. #recovery#sobriety
