Comfortably working 90kg squats for working sets... & with that depth ! 🙌🏼🙃👇🏽 its without doubt [ time & consistency ] is K E Y for making progress! & yes, anyone can go to the gym and be consistent with their training BUT what are you really working? Are you just going through the motions or properly taking time to engage with those muscle fibres your meant to be targeting? 🎯 ... the past few weeks I've really been trying to break down all of my exercises. Go back to basics, Focus on full range of movement & mind to muscle connection, really embracing to burn & isolation 🔥 already noticing small improvements along the way but there's always room for more 😉💪🏼😏 happy Squat-day peeps xx

Because squats engage almost every muscle from head to toe, there’s a huge hormonal response and massive impact on the central nervous system. This is where things can get interesting. The squatting movement remains the same, but now you have to contend with a barbell resting on your back. You’ll also need a squat rack or power rack for this move. It allows for easy access getting under and out from under the bar. Plus, it has safety bars that will catch you if get stuck while squatting.
How to: To start, adjust the height of the bar so it’s just below shoulder height. Grip the bar wider than shoulder-width and step under the bar so the weight is resting on your upper back (a). Set up in the same squat position you’ve been using to complete each move so far, making sure to sit back and down while keep the chest upright (b). Once you’ve hit rock bottom exhale, press through your heels, squeeze your elbows towards your body and return to standing (c). Today is a day for rest and contemplation of what you have achieved this week and what you want to achieve next week. As well as resting today smash out your last workout of the week to end the week on a high, write your goals for the coming week and make a plan and a schedule to ensure you will stay on track to reach them, as well as doing some Sunday prep ready for the week. I will be writing my workout schedule, my goals for each day and for the week, and doing food prep to ensure i am best prepared to take on the new week. But for now i am relaxing and enjoying a coffee on a beautiful Sunday morning ☀️

And another #mothersday passes without my mummy, there's nothing truer than these words. As a mummy I play every role, but I know that no-one can ever replace my mummy. And hopefully I can stay fit enough and strong enough that I never leave my little man too early and he never has to experience life without me. Loosing a mother is incomparable. 13 years and I still miss her every single day. Almost half my life without her, and it doesn't matter how much time passes there's still days where I wish she could be here to support and guide and love me. So a final happy mothers day to all my friends without mummies. ❤
