So long and thanks for all the needles!
Spent the last 4 days, 3 nights hanging out in a Athenian hospital. The doctors were super nice and knowledgeable, the facility was clean and modern and the food was how I imagined hospital food should be. Nothing fancy but it did its job.
It's kind of scary heading into the hospital with a weird pain in your stomach and the doctors running a myriad of blood tests and x-rays on you. Slather on the fact that they're talking Greek around (about?) you and you don't know if your self diagnosis of food poisoning is so sure anymore. But with the support of family and friends, from one side of this globe to the other, I was definitely never alone. Thanks for that.
So basically, food poisoning lead to bacterial infection in my digestive tract which lead to inflammation which lead to pain which lead to Kris not eating or retaining water for 3 days which lead to severe dehydration which lead to a fever which lead to a 3 day and $7000 hospital visit. I'm feeling a 1000x better and have the antibiotics on hand to kick this bug completely to the curb. Hospital in a foreign country, ✔️

and that was what now she often felt the need of - to think; well not even to think. to be silent; to be alone. all the being and the doing, expansive, glittering, vocal, evaporated; and one shrunk, with a sense of solemnity, to being oneself a wedge-shaped core of darkness, something invisible to others. - virginia woolf
