The "---•" you can see underneath Speed means that we have selected managed speed. In managed speed, we leave the flight management computers (FMC) to work out how fast it thinks the aircraft should be flying, which is shown by a magenta triangle on our speed tape. By pulling the speed selector (as opposed to pushing it), we can select our own speed, in which case the "---•" will be replaced by a number. We normally use selected speed when air traffic control gives us speed constraints which is typical on an approach into most busy airports so they can space us from other aircraft🛬 We will then normally select managed speed again during the last stage of the approach to let the aircraft slow down to a sensible landing speed, as you can see here☝️ ----------------------- ⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀ ⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀ ⠀ Requested by @_tom_willis. On Tuesday, I got an exciting call from @nicholasreichard , Wednesday I quit my job, Thursday I got a storage unit, and Friday I hopped on a plane to Colorado. A bunch of my friends from the PCT are making a documentary while they finish their triple crown on the CDT and asked for my help. They've been working insanely hard for the last few months and have pulled together some huge sponsors and I'm extremely excited to be a part of this project. Today we're driving from Jackson to Missoula.
Stay tuned, more updates to come. #3mphFilm
I'm not going to lie, It's a huge confidence booster waking up to a bunch of messages in my inbox. I'm really humbled that a lot of people took the time out to book shoots with me both in and out of con. I'm looking at my schedule right now, and to be honest I'm kind of scared lol. But it's all good. Sometimes we have to get uncomfortable to grow. Thank you guys for putting your faith in me. So excited for next weekend just to spend time with everyone.
