Peanut butter and banana porridge with cinnamon 😍 Do you have to eat breakfast? It's one of those controversial topics that gets circulated around, and I'm gonna to answer with my favorite answer to most fitness questions - IT DEPENDS.
Reasons why you should eat breakfast: - wakes you up, fills you with energy. - prevents mid morning snacking
- eating in the morning results in DIT - diet induced thermogenesis, which is actually more pronounced in the morning (your body burns more calories from food than later in the day) - According to the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition, can result in more energy expenditure during physical activity - improved focus, mental energy and brain activity
So there are undoubtedly benefits to eating breakfast, so you should definitely eat it. However... if you do not like breakfast ( don't know why 😉) missing out on it won't necessarily do you any damage. Missing breakfast has been linked to weight gain over time, increase postprandial hyperglycemia ( high blood sugar post meal) in people with T2 diabetes and result in tiredness BUT these links are too tenuous to have considerable weight, and thus are more speculative than proven. I sometimes find that after a large meal in the evening, I'm not super hungry in the morning, and I have a small breakfast like a banana, and then eat more food later. Breakfast is a personal preference, but I would recommend having it, especially before working out or working, as it does have its benefits 😊
Yesterday I created a trial kit containing some of my favorite products for athletes. I love using essential oils to support my fitness, and I love sharing their benefits with others. If you're local to #nashville#tennessee and would like to borrow this, let me know.
